I need ideas on Free Halloween Costumes for Seven Year old and infant.?

I have a seven year old daughter and an infant boy who will be almost four months old on Halloween. We currently live in a homeless shelter and don’t have a lot of supplies on hand. I need some ideas for quick, easy, cheap (free) Halloween costumes for the kids. any ideas? (And ghosts are outta the question).

How do you fit a coat under your child’s Halloween costume?

Last year it was 65 degrees here on Halloween night, but this year it is estimated to be around 40 degrees during trick or treat hours.

My daughter is in size 2T, so her costumes are size 2T/3T, but if I put a coat under them they don’t fit. they just aren’t wide enough.

I went back to the store to look at the 4T/5T ones, and they are far too long. I live in the midwest so the little kid costumes in this area should accommodate to our weather!

A friend told me to try old Navy since they sell warmer costumes, but our local store and online only seem to have the same 3 boy costumes left.

just buy your daughter a pair of long/thermal underwear and shirt. I live in Canada, and that’s what my parents did when i had thinner costumes, and thats what i do with my kids now. you should be able to get a kids set for under 30$ at Walmart etc
